Homeopathy for Summer - that Knocks it Out of the Park.

Some of you may recognize Louise from our 'Homeopathy in Action' series. What you might not know is that she recently relocated to Mexico to deepen her studies in healing plants and technologies.

It's been three weeks into her adventure—and, as you might expect, there have been a few events along the way.

Let’s start with the obvious. What’s the classic tourist trouble in Mexico? If you guessed digestive drama with a side of bathroom urgency, you are spot on!

Incident #1 | Food Poisoning

Louise recounts, “I woke up around 1 a.m. with stomach cramps and intense hot sweats—straight into a cold shower. Then came the urgent-but-unsuccessful trip to the bathroom, mouth-watering nausea, and that dreaded ‘Oh no… what did I eat last night?’ moment. Ah yes, street food. Justified by, ‘It was soooo good last time, and the locals eat there all the time.’

The symptoms were escalating quickly—and so was my panic. I sat on my bed, took a deep breath, and rummaged through my bag for my Helios Homeopathy Kit.

I don’t use it often, but this was go-time. I ran through my symptoms and landed on Arsenicum album. Not just for the physical stuff—my thoughts were also racing: Am I crazy for being here? What was I thinking?... you know the drill.”

Three minutes after taking the remedy—a small burp. Relief. A deep exhale. Back to bed. All good, right?

Not quite.

Just as I’m drifting off, I hear a scattering sound. I am not alone. I flick on the light—and there it is. A rather large cockroach. On my sneaker. In full view.

Cue round two of nausea, now with bonus adrenaline. I google natural pest deterrents (killing it was not an option—splat radius too high - joking! I wouldn't harm), and discovered that essential oils like lemongrass and mint might do the trick.

Picture this: me, flinging lemongrass oil in every corner like a deranged priestess, nauseous, dizzy from the overpowering scent, fans blasting, windows open, praying to all the gods.

Symptoms return: stomach cramps, sweats, headache, mouth-watering nausea. Back to the kit. Repeat the remedy. Deep breath. Box breathing, inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 2 and repeat for several minutes. (ps hold on the decrease of air is intentional to calm the nervous system)

Three minutes later—another burp. Relief. Again.

I'm asleep in five minutes and woke up the following morning as if nothing had happened. Zero signs of food poisoning. Digestive system: right as rain. Thank you Arsenicum!

Incident #2 Insect bites.

This one aligns beautifully with another of the remedies of the month: Apis,

I’m in the jungle, visiting a local professor’s healing garden. It’s beautiful. It’s rustic. And in my reverie, I stepped—unwittingly—into a colony of teeny-tiny red ants. I noticed only when they started swarming my feet.

Suddenly I’m doing this strange jungle dance, trying to keep it together. My hands are getting bitten from swatting them off my feet, and swelling fast—like had to pull off my ring fast kind of swelling. Welts appearing. I’m now itchy everywhere.

Thankfully, I had my kit with me!

Enter Apis mellifica. One dose. Ten minutes later: no swelling, no itching, no evidence I had ever tangoed with a colony of angry ants.”

This, mi amigas, is the power of homeopathy in action."

So please, bring your kit or these select remedies on your next holiday, take them to the park, keep them in your daypack. You never know when nature—or questionable tacos—will come calling.

If you don’t yet have a Helios kit, it’s one of the best investments you’ll make for natural, on-the-spot healing. For summer colds, bites, burns, bumps, tummy troubles and more. Suffering is optional!
